Apart from discussing its stand on playing against Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy, BCCI in a working committee meeting decided to double the match fees of India's Test cricketers.

According to a report in Times of India, cricketers who are part of the playing 11 will earn Rs 15 lakh and reserves will pocket 7 lakh. Earlier, the amounts were Rs 7 lakh and Rs 3.5 lakh, respectively.

The Board has extended the same courtesy to the full members as their subsidy has been hiked from Rs 60 to Rs 70 crore.

"I have always maintained that we need to do more for Test cricket and cricketers both, and this is the first step in that direction," BCCI President Anurag Thakur told TOI.
