Devotees offered prayers at temples in Rameswaram after the Tamil Nadu government allowed re-opening of religious places from July 1 with Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs). SOPs outline norms for worship places in rural areas to prevent the spread of coronavirus. It includes prohibition of physical offerings like prasad, distribution or sprinkling of holy water. Religious places in containment zones will not be allowed to open.
