The AAP chief took to his Twitter account to clarify his stand as Delhi's fate hangs in the balance.
As Delhi is in a confusion mode with BJP emerging as the largest party in terms of votes in the Assembly elections but the fact that they were unable to cross the half-way mark has lead to uncertainties about the government.
Delhi seems to be clearly heading towards president’s rule as neither the single largest party, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), nor the stellar debutante, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), is ready to form the government. Instead, both are “happy” to sit in the opposition.
Both the AAP and the BJP have missed Delhi by a whisker. Even if the three AAP candidates who lost the election by a narrow margin, had won their seats, the debutant in the Delhi political arena would still not have attained the majority to form the government in Delhi. In terms of numbers, the party would have come at par with the BJP and would still be short of five seats to form the government.Like the AAP, the BJP too has been put into the Catch 22 situation. However, the party has lost three of its seats with a margin of about a thousand votes. If the party would have managed these seats, the BJP would have comfortably been forming the government in the capital, with its number reaching the magical 36.
Prashant Bhushan on Monday suggested that BJP and AAP could join hands to which Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday responded with a tweet.
