The Gujarat high court has suspended three judges after a departmental inquiry was ordered against them for alleged irregularities.

The judges include metropolitan magistrate of Ahmedabad RG Chaudhary, chief judicial magistrate of Palanpur, KA Patel, and additional civil judge of Bhuj, HS Mansuri.

The three judges were suspended after a preliminary inquiry conducted by the registrar (vigilance) revealed gross irregularities on their part, after which a departmental inquiry was ordered against them.

Sources in the high court said that the judges’ suspension will continue till the inquiry is completed. A preliminary investigation by authorities was conducted after complaints were received against the three judges.

Earlier, the Gujarat high court had last year suspended a senior judicial magistrate for misconduct. Surat district judicial magistrate, first class, AN Vizoda, was suspended for possession of unaccounted properties.
