Vishant, son of Hasmukh Patel, had gone there to help with the Youth Congress election process

Former Congress education minister Hasmukh Patel's 35-year-old son Vishant went missing in Uttar Pradesh on Monday. The second generation Congress worker had gone to UP
with two other associates to help out with the Youth Congress election process in the state. They were stationed in a village outside Lucknow called Hirdoi.

According to Patel, Vishant left his hotel room, where all the delegates were staying, on Monday morning without informing anyone. He left behind his two mobile phones at the hotel. Since then, he has been unreachable.

On Monday evening, the police in Lucknow were alerted and a search operation is underway to find him. As the YC elections are being directly monitored by Rahul Gandhi's team, they have also initiated a search operation.

"The other two YC members from Gujarat are constantly in touch with me. We are totally clueless as to what could have led to his disappearance. I was constantly in touch with him till Monday morning. There was nothing amiss in his behaviour or attitude. Everyone is trying their best and we are keeping our fingers crossed," Patel said.
