Sonu Nigam's views on the Azaan continue to grip the nation, after he tweeted that he didn't like being woken up by it playing on the loudspeaker in the mornings and despised the 'forced religiousness'. But it looks like some of the other celebrities don't seem to mind, in fact, they'd rather halt a press conferences than disrupt it.

We reported earlier that a video of Priyanka Chopra saying that the Azaan was her favourite part of shooting in Bhopal was making the rounds on the internet. Now, clips of Salman Khan and Narendra Modi respecting the Azaan are also going viral.

Salman Khan was present at a press conference for the launch of Bigg Boss 8 in 2014, when he heard the Azaan. He immediately halted the discussion so as to pay his respects to the prayer call and kept silent till the end, post which the conference resumed.

While this could lead to assumptions based on the fact that this was all due to Salman's religion, a similar video of Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also being circulated. While campaigning in Kharagpur in 2016, the PM heard the Azaan playing on a loudspeaker from a Masjid nearby and stopped his speech immediately. He then resumed after the Azaan, saying that it is wrong to interrupt any religion's call for prayer or worship.

It's moments like these that make us realise that while no one's beliefs are forced, it's the way they respect those of others that matter.
