This incident came to light, after several women opened up about their ordeal, wherein men had harassed them sexually. These accounts gave rise to the #MeToo movement.

After the campaign, Cine and TV Artists Association (CINTAA) and many faces from TV and film fraternity have extended their support to the writer.

However, accused Alok Nath has rubbished the claims.

He spoke to ABP and said, "Neither am I denying this nor do I would agree with it. It (rape) must have happened, but someone else would have done it. Well, I do not want to talk much about it as for the matter if it has come out, it will be stretched."

Alok Nath also went on to say that he is not affected with what people will say after being accused of sexual violation.

He further said that he was responsible for the writer-producer's success.

He said, "At one time she used to be such a good friend... today she said such a big thing. In a way, it was me who made her what she is."

The actor also finds it useless to react to such allegations as in today's time whatever a woman says, only that will be considered true and it would be wrong to say anything.

"He was an alcoholic, shameless and obnoxious but he was also the television star of that decade, so not only was he forgiven for all his bad behaviour but many of the guys would egg him on to be his worst," the writer-producer wrote about Alok Nath's bad behaviour on the sets of Tara.
