Shaw, who joined the Mumbai squad for the Vijat Hazare Trophy semifinal against Hyderabad, hit another explosive half-century. The 18-year-old hit 61 runs off just 44 balls during Mumbai's chase of 247 runs. Shaw who opened the innings with Rohit Sharma hit 8 fours and 2 sixes in his innings. He added 73 runs for the first wicket with Sharma who contributed only 17.

Earlier, Hyderabad had posted 246/8 in their 50 overs thanks to a century from Rohit Rayudu (121 off 132 balls).

Shaw had scored 237 runs in the two test matches against West Indies with an average of 118.50 and strike rate of 94.04 including a century on debut in Rajkot.

His half-century comes at a time when there are reports that he could be fast-tracked into India’s limited-overs side as well.

Shaw may be selected in Team India for the upcoming five-match ODI series against West Indies, if reports are to be believed.

According to report in Indian Express, Prithvi Shaw may be given a chance in the ODI series as well. The report said that the team management is keen to test Shaw as an opener as they want to look at different options before the 2019 Cricket World Cup.
