RR were in a spot of bother at 42/5 before David Miller played a brilliant hand of 62 runs off just 43 balls and handed it over to the tall big-hitting all-rounder to show his skills for which the Royals paid a hefty sum of INR 16.25 crores in the auction to get his services.

He may have fallen short in his side's first game against the Punjab Kings where his innings of 2 (4) put pressure on skipper Sanju Samson, but on Thursday he was the protagonist and he had to do it all for his side.

Morris launched into his South African counterpart Kagiso Rabada as he hit two huge sixes in the 19th over bowled by the pacer and got 15 runs in total to leave 12 runs in the final to win. And, Tom Curran's slower deliveries didn't work at all as one half-tracker and another one a full toss and it was game set match for the Royals.

Morris remained unbeaten on 36 runs off just 18 balls hitting four huge sixes. Morris, who was with the Royal Challengers Bangalore last season was released by the franchise before this year's auction hoping to get him back at a cheaper price. RCB went up till INR 9.5 crores for him but didn't go any further as the bids didn't stop anytime soon.

The fans on Twitter, on the other hand, got another reason to troll RCB saying another player, who was released by RCB performed for another team giving examples of KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal and Marcus Stoinis.
