Andre Russell spun his magic with the ball on Tuesday as the all-rounder picked up five wickets, second in five days for a bowler against Mumbai Indians to help Kolkata Knight Riders bowl out the defending champions for just 152 in Match No 5 of the 2021 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Russell's figures read 0 W Wd W 1 2 1 4 4 W W 2 W in the 12 balls he bowled and took five wickets for just 15 runs.

Mumbai Indians lost their last seven wickets in just 37 runs as they folded for just 152 runs in their 20 overs. Russell also achieved the best figures for a bowler against the Mumbai Indians bettering Harshal Patel's 5/27, a few days ago. Russell's 5/15 was also the best for a KKR bowler bettering Sunil Narine's figures.

Mumbai were going comfortably at one point at 81/1 when Surya and Rohit were batting. Surya had just reached his 12th IPL half-century and Rohit was just getting a move on, however, Shakib Al Hasan got a crucial breakthrough and dismissed Surya in the 11th over of the innings and Cummins got the wicket of Ishan Kishan in the next over.

Soon, Mumbai's innings started crumbling and none of the batsman could offer any resistance for long periods. It seemed like a procession soon after as the wickets kept falling like nine pins and ultimately the defending champions were bundled out for just 152.
