Commentator and former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar faced the flak of fans and the users on Twitter after they suggested that the commentator's curse resulted in the wickets of Shardul Thakur and Rishabh Pant, who both had smashed fifties and stitched a 100-run partnership taking India's lead beyond 300.

Sanjay Manjrekar, who has previously been slammed for his controversial opinions in the press and on-air, was criticised on Sunday again after he praised the batsman and he got out, not once but twice in two overs.

Thakur, who was playing on 60 after having slammed his second fifty of the match was well-set and seeing Joe Root come in to bowl against him, Manjrekar, according to the Twitter users praised the bowling all-rounder saying he will fancy his chances against the spinner, but the next ball he got out edging it to the slips.

A similar thing transpired in the next over of Moeen Ali when Majrekar suggested that Pant will be more aggressive after getting to his fifty and two balls later Pant smashed straight into the hands of the bowler as India lost two key wickets in a span of two overs.
