Ratan Tata is a legendary business tycoon who has inspired generations. The Tata Group is now in the process of passing on the responsibilities to the next generation of Tatas. Maya Tata is one of the next of Kin in taking over the Tata empire. 

The 34-year-old Maya Tata has been recently taken on board as a board member of the Tata Medical Centre Trust. Maya Tata along with her siblings, Leah and Neville are being groomed for their roles in the organisation by none other than Ratan Tata. 

Maya Tata is the daughter of Noel Tata and Aloo Mistry. Noel is the half-brother of Ratan Tata and Aloo Mistry is the daughter of late billionaire Pallonji Mistry and sister of Tata Group's former chairman Cyrus Mistry.

Maya Tata is the youngest of Neol's three children. Maya pursued her education at the UK's Bayers Business School and The University of Warwick, says Indiatimes.com. 

Maya has been working in different capacities at the Tata group. She started her career with Tata Opportunities Fund, which was the oldest private equity fund of Tata Group subsidiary Tata Capital until its closure. 

After that, she moved to Tata Digital, the company for which the N Chandrasekaran-led group has earmarked Rs 1,000 crore. Currently, Maya is one of the six board members of the Tata Medical Centre Trust which manages a Kolkata-based cancer hospital that was inaugurated by Ratan Tata in 2011. 

Tata Sons is the holding company of the Tata Group with market value of listed investments at Rs 11,20,545.24 crore as on March 31, 2023, according to Tata Sons annual report for the year. It further mentioned the combined market capitalisation of the Tata group at Rs 20,71,467 crore.
