Selfiee release live updates: Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi-starrer comedy drama Selfiee has finally been released with expectations to continue the trend of the positive run at the box office. Selfiee is the official Hindi remake of the 2019 Malayalam superhit Driving Licence starring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Suraj Venjaramoodu.

Extremely low opening predicted

Selfiee had been predictd to open at Rs 6 crore but given the extremely low footfalls in the morning shows, trade insiders are now predicting the film may struggle to cross the Rs 4-crore mark, making it one of Akshay Kumar's lowest openings in recent years.

An exhibitor from Raipur-Dhamtari-Jagdalpur-Rewa shared an update about the low occupancy in the morning shows of Selfiee. On Twitter, he wrote, "#Selfieemovie has opened to shockingly low occupancy. Morning Show occupancy is at single digit. Now only good Word of Mouth and Positive #SelfieeReview can save the movie. Really hopefully that WOM will turn things around by afternoon."

Taran Adarsh's prediction about the fate of Selfiee's opening

Amid dull advance bookings, trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted about Selfiee box office collections and stated that the opening day collections and the fate of the film will depend on spot bookings and word-of-mouth. On his social media, he wrote, "All eyes on spot bookings and of course, word of mouth. #Selfiee."

Selfiee advance booking update

Given that Selfiee is getting a wide release with roughly 3000 screens, it was expected to do well in advance booking. However, the pre-sales trends for the film do not paint a very rosy picture. The advance booking was open a day before the release. Still, it could only manage to sell only 30,000 tickets in India.  As per the report of Sacnilk, the film has collected barely Rs 73.76 lakhs from the first day of advance booking.
