The poster, doesn't in any capacity fail to portray Kangana as the warrior queen Laxmibai, and hence, the excitement around the film and its release has surged to another level.

But unfortunately, the epic biographical which was scheduled to hit the silver screen on January 25 next year is likely to have a change in its release date.

And why do we say so?

Because a cast member from the film told Peepingmoon.com that portions of the ambitious Rani of Jhansi biopic will be reshot in Karjat from the 27th of this month.

Amidst vehement denials from the producers of the Kangana Ranaut starrer, a cast member confirmed that the certain portions of the film are indeed being reshot as KV Vijayendra Prasad, the one who has penned the script of the film has insisted on doing so.

“The film was shown to Vijayendra Prasad and he felt some scenes were not working. Other unit members also agreed and hence it has been decided to rework on those crucial scenes,” said the source.

However, the twist in the tale is that the director of the film Krish Jagarlamudi is not likely to reshoot these portions.

“Krish has signed another South film, a biopic on NTR which has a very promising star cast that includes Vidya Balan, Rana Daggubati, Nandamuri Balakrishna and Sumanth among others. This project needs his full attention. Krish doesn’t want to be handling both big projects at the same time and has reportedly told the Manikarnika makers that he will not be available for the reshoot,” the source told the website.

So, looks like the Manikarnika makers will now have to get another director to reshoot the 'wrong' portions of the film and have apparently estimated the budget of the film to go up by of Rs 5 crores, which takes the total cost of the film up by Rs 95 crores now.

Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi will be a tale of bravery, valour and sacrifice.

The biopic also stars Jisshu Sengupta as Gangadhar Rao, Atul Kulkarni as Tatya Tope, Sonu Sood as Sadashiv, Suresh Oberoi as Peshwa Bajirao II, Vaibhav Tatwawaadi as Puran Singh and Ankita Lokhande as Jhalkaribai.
