MS Dhoni made history as the first Indian captain to lead Chennai Super Kings to victory in the IPL. In 2010, under his leadership, CSK secured their first IPL trophy by defeating the Mumbai Indians.

CSK emerged victorious over RCB in the IPL 2011 final, successfully defending their title. Under the leadership of Dhoni, CSK has secured five IPL championship.

Dhoni served as the captain of Team India for close to a decade, beginning with his captaincy debut in the 2007 T20 World Cup and concluding his full-time leadership role in 2016.

Gautam Gambhir made history by becoming the second Indian captain to lead his team to victory in the IPL. Under Gambhir's leadership, KKR secured the IPL titles in both 2012 and 2014.

Gambhir successfully led India to victory in all six ODIs during his tenure as captain. Despite his impressive leadership skills, he was never appointed as the permanent captain of Team India.

In 2013, Rohit Sharma achieved a significant milestone by becoming one of the esteemed Indian captains to secure an IPL title.

Rohit led the MI to victory in the IPL in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020. However, he was succeeded by Hardik Pandya as the team's captain before the IPL season of 2024.

Hardik Pandya became the fourth Indian captain to win an IPL title in 2022 with Gujarat Titans.

After his successful performance in the IPL 2022, Hardik Pandya was appointed as a key member of India's leadership group. He then went on to lead the team in T20Is.
