Dry fruits to avoid eating in the morning

Ritik Raj

Due to their high fibre content, some dry fruits, like dates, figs, raisins, and prunes, should not be consumed first thing in the morning on an empty stomach.

It is best to eat these dry fruits with other foods or later in the day to avoid any potential digestive problems, even though they are healthy and advantageous when taken in moderation.

Raisins: When consumed on an empty stomach, raisins' high fibre content and natural sugar content can result in bloating, gas and discomfort in the stomach.

Dried figs: Figs contain a lot of fibre, so eating them first thing in the morning when you do not have anything else to help with the digestion process can cause bloating and discomfort.

Prunes: Because of their high fibre content and natural laxative qualities, eating prunes first thing in the morning on an empty stomach can cause upset stomach or even diarrhoea.

Dates: In a similar vein, dates contain a high fibre content that may be challenging to digest when the stomach is empty, thus causing bloating and discomfort.

Cashews: As they contain a lot of fat, eating cashews in the morning without any other food to balance the intake can make them feel heavy and cause digestive discomfort.

On the other hand, eating soaked dry fruits first thing in the morning can be advantageous.
