Meena Kumari, known as the tragedy queen of Bollywood, couldn’t continue performing due to illness. She passed away all alone three weeks after the release of her film Pakeezah.

Praveen Babi had become mentally unstable and died alone at her apartment in January 2005. 

Panchal, who died in poverty in August 2017, couldn’t pay his own medical bills. 

Ak Hangal, known as the perennially troubled father of Bollywood, passed away at the  in a hospital without money to pay for his treatment.

Bharat Bhushan had to shift to a chawl in Mumbai after he even lost his house to gambling. He died alone in the same shabby house.

Vimi, during her death, was carried to the crematorium in a thela or a hand-pulled cart as there was no vehicle to carry her body.

Achala Sachdev, after an accident, became paralyzed and was left in a hospital without attendants.

Bhagwan Dada was forced to sell his 25-bedroom Juhu house, his fleet of 7 cars, and move to a 'chawl' with his family. Bhagwan Dada died in 2002 at the age of 89 without wealth or friends.

Chandra Mohan, who was a well-known face during the 1930s and 1940s, died penniless in 1949 due to his addiction to both gambling and drinking.
