Pongal: is a filling dish made with cooked rice and lentils that have been seasoned with black pepper, cumin, and cashews.

Semiya Upma: This is an upma variation prepared with cooked vermicelli noodles, onions, and spices.

Appam: Made with a fermented batter of rice and coconut milk, these delicate, lacy pancakes go well with stews made with coconut milk or coconut milk that has been sweetened.
