July 4, or as many would call it - Monday - is the Independence Day for the United States (US).

On this day, US ceased to be a British colony and became an independent nation.

British political comedian and TV show host seized this opportunity to poke fun at what US lost because of Britain's exit (now that Brexit fever is high) and what it could have had.

Well, the first thing that the Americans lost was the wonderful British accent, or as John Oliver likes to put it "beautiful vowel sounds"! Whereas now, they sound like they have burnt their tongue on "hot apple pie".

Not to mention the bowler hat and meat pies, which are quite like the British, if you ask Oliver - tough on the outside and a "hot mess" inside!

Go ahead and enjoy the full list of things that America could have had, but will not, now that Britain's gone.

Oh! And a very happy Independence Day!
