Police say four people have died after a shooting at the Cascade mall in Burlington, Washington (US).

Police are currently evacuating the mall. The gunman entered a Macy's store around 7:00pm, RT reports.

Sgt. Mark Francis, who is at the scene tweeted: 

The Department of Emergency Management of Skagit County has requested the public to avoid the area.

SWAT teams are inside and around the mall. All roads around the area have also been blocked,according to KIRO reporter Gary Horcher.

  • On Twitter, Brandi Montreuil, who was at the Cascade mall watching a movie at the time of the shooting said a "theatre attendant came in to evacuate us".

    After being evacuated, Montreuil and her family have safely left the scene.

  • Currently on the scene is the US Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

  • Police are searching for the suspect who is still at large.

  • Emergency medical service (EMS) are at the scene to treat the injured.

  • People inside the mall will be moved to "His Place" church corner via bus.

  • Police have confirmed four people in the mall are deceased and that the shooter left the scene before Police arrived.
