Watch: Woman refuses to let go of 'valuable' handbag during security check, climbs into X-Ray machine with it

A woman in China went as far as inside an X-ray machine to keep her valuables in sight as she allegedly did not trust the security staff with her handbag.

The woman left onlookers shocked at Dongguan Railway Station in south China when she climbed into the security scanner. 

A now viral picture shows the unnamed woman on all fours on the conveyor belt, while staff stood watching. 

Reportedly, the woman refused to leave the handbag in the machine unattended. 

According to a Mirror Online report, the woman was happy to put her suitcases through the machine before walking through the security checkpoint holding the smaller handbag.

When the security staff told her that the smaller bag would also have to be checked, she circled back to the scanner and climbed into it. 

The woman reportedly did not want to be separated from her handbag and its valuable contents.

She placed her bag on the conveyor belt, before climbing on herself so she could ensure the safety of valuables. 

Security officers did not stop the woman who collected her other bags before going to catch her train.

A video of the whole incident was posted on Facebook by PearVideo.

The video shows woman's silhouette inside the machine and her climbing off the machine once the checking was done. It isn't clear what was inside the woman's bag which she was trying to safeguard with such dedication.

The incident took place on February 11, days before China's upcoming Lunar New Year, to be celebrated on February 16. Wads of cash are traditionally given as a gift for Chinese New Year which many believed what she was trying to protect.

Meanwhile, security staff at Dongguan Railway Station staff have advised passengers not to ride the X-ray machines as radiation can be harmful.
