A video showing a North Korean soldier escaping the border is doing the rounds on internet. North Korean soldier who was being shot by his former comrades is seen escaping border.
The incident took place in the heavily Demilitarized zone (DMZ) that divides North and South Korea. The soldier was shot at least five times by his comardes who used handguns to fire 40 rounds at him. The man is clearly seen running in the video. He crashes into the jeep and sprints towards the border. The injured soldier collapsed into a pile of leaves. He was pulled by South Korean troops who helped him crawl to safety.
The CCTV footage was released by United Nation Command and this the first time the UN Command has let out a security footage of a defection. The North Korean soldier has been taken to a hospital by a US helicopter.
