KATHMANDU: At least two persons were killed and two others sustained injuries when a stray bomb exploded at a village in western Nepal, police said on Wednesday.

Of the four injured in the blast in Surkhet district on Tuesday evening, two succumbed to their injuries while being taken to a hospital, they said.

The victims were identified as Sher Bahadur Karki, a Nepali Army soldier on leave and an 11-year-old boy Hom Bahadur Rana.

The bomb exploded when Hom, who found it in a nearby forest, was trying to show it to Karki, police said.
