Pakistan's Neelam Irshad Sheikh, a leader of the ruling party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), openly admitted the close ties of the nation's military with the Taliban and added that the group will help Imran Khan-led country to win Kashmir.

The PTI leaders, in a TV news debate, said Pakistan and the Taliban will work together for Kashmir. He said, "The Taliban are saying that they are with us and they will help us in Kashmir."

This comes after chaotic scenes being witnessed in Afghanistan amid the withdrawal of US troops from the war-torn nation, which has now fallen into the hands of the Taliban.

The Taliban has, reportedly, mentioned that Kashmir is India's internal and bilateral issue.

Sheikh's comments ruffled the TV news anchor, who said, "Do you realise what you've said, Madam? You are completely unaware of what you have said. For God's sake ma'am, this show will be broadcast all over the world. In India, this will be seen."

However, undaunted Sheikh said the Taliban were mistreated and that is why they will 'help us (Pakistan).'

The comments by the PTI leader comes as Pakistan's connection with the Taliban has already been under scanner. The Afghanistan government had earlier accused Pakistan and its intelligence arm of aiding and abetting the Taliban.
