BAGHDAD: A suicide bomber killed at least six people and wounded another 20 inside a Shi'ite mosque in Baghdad on Friday, police said, two days after security forces launched a crackdown against Al Qaeda in the capital.

The blast at the Buratha mosque in northern Baghdad took place as worshippers were gathering for Friday's noon prayers.

On April 7, three suicide bombers dressed as women attacked the same mosque, killing at least 71 people.

Al Qaeda in Iraq has attacked Shi'ite mosques as part of a campaign to ignite a civil war between Shi'ites and Sunni Arabs.
