According to the reports, the stampede took place in Kerman, the hometown of Soleimani, during the procession. Initial videos posted online showed people lying lifeless on a road, others shouting and trying to help them.
Thousands of people took to streets for the final journey of the top military commander. He was killed in an air strike by carried out by a US drone outside the Baghdad airport in Iraq.
