A leading cleric in South Africa prayed for former president Nelson Mandela’s ‘peaceful end,’ who is still in a critical condition.

Archbishop Thabo Makgoba visited the 94-year-old in a Pretoria hospital, and prayed with his wife Graca Machel.

According to the BBC, Mandela’s condition became critical on Sunday, after he admitted to hospital on 8 June with a recurring lung infection.

Archbishop Makgoba’s prayed that Mandela be freed from all the pain and suffering, adding that he be granted a ‘peaceful and perfect end’.
