LONDON: A Brit Senior MP had been dubbed an "airhead" after she called the fire department to repair her noise-making central heater.

Lib-Dem Lynne Featherstone had punched UK's emergency number 999 only to get the heating fixed at her Highgate residence in North London, which has left Brian Coleman, chairman of London Fire Authority, steaming.

"We are not Lynne Featherstone's heating engineers. There could have been a serious incident somewhere else. It costs 250 pounds per hour for a call out and I look forward to receiving her cheque," the Sun quoted the fire chief as saying.

"She has shown herself to be completely dizzy. Airheads and airlocks are obviously not unrelated. I wouldn't put the Lib-Dems in charge of the country if they can't run a heating system," he added.

While the politician couldn't be more thankful to her firemen "heroes", she added: "I'm absolutely shocked Brian would discourage anyone from ringing 999 in an emergency. He's an idiot."
