In Feb 2019, Bezos accused the newspaper's owner of trying to blackmail him with the threat of publishing "intimate photos" he allegedly sent to Lauren Sanchez and experts believe that leaked text & photos could be related to this hacking.

In March 2019,  Bezos' security chief had claimed that the Saudi government had access to Amazon CEO's phone and his private information has been compromised.

The Saudi Embassy, meanwhile, took to Twitter on Wednesday and said, "Recent media reports that suggest the Kingdom is behind the hacking of Mr. Jeff Bezos' phone are absurd. We call for an investigation on these claims so that we can have all the facts out."
