According to a UK-based activist organization, the Iraqi pilots have joined IS militant group. The SOHR authorities said that many people had seen the planes being flown around a military airport in Aleppo.

Rahman said that witnesses claimed that the fighter jets were flying in the skies outside the airport and coming back. Witnesses also said that the planes seemed to be MiG-21 or MiG-23 models.
