Israel launched a series of airstrikes against Iran on Friday, June 13, targeting its nuclear facilities, killing six scientists. It targeted key military, nuclear infrastructures across Iran. In a major escalation, Iran retaliated by launching ballistic missiles and drones. The Israeli attack on Iran was a pre-planned attack, as Tel Aviv deployed 200 Air force fighters. But, there is a real mastermind behind this. 

Who was the real mastermind?

Mossad, Israel’s intelligence agency, was the real mastermind. Under the codename “Lion Rising,” Mossad launched the attack, that was planned for two years. 

Prior to the airstrikes in Iran, Mossad carried out three key missions in the Iranian territory. First it disabled Iran's air defence systems,  the Mossad agents had already fitted devices in the Iranian system, that jammed the system. Next aim was to neutralize surface-to-air missile capibilites. Lastly, it sabotaged ballistic missile infrastructure. Iran's intelligence was left unaware of the 'secretive' operations of Israel’s intelligence agency, Mossad. 

Why was the air strikes launched?

The Israel launched airstrikes to neutralize Iran’s nuclear program. It is a major threat to Israel. Six Iranian scientists were killed in the attack. Former head of Atomic Energy Organization Dr Fereydoun Abbasi and famous scientist Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi were also killed. Israel striked near Natanz, which is Iran’s main uranium enrichment facility, causing chemical and radiological contamination.

Moreover, Israeli agents destroyed the radar and missile system. They attacked six military bases. Israel killed at least 20 top commanders of Iran military, by attacking highly secured housing complexes. The Iranian military was left leaderless, as IRGC chief Hussein Salami, Army chief Mohammad Bagheri, Air Force chief Amir Ali Hajizadeh and Navy chief, were killed.
