Chances of Pakistani fans visiting Mohali in hordes appeared bleak as though 5,000 visas have been approved by the government, it is already housefull at Mohali.  Visas would be granted only to those Pakistanis who have tickets with them.

Unless the International Cricket Council (ICC) steps in to salvage the situation, Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) authorities have ruled out any chances for tickets for the Pakistani visitors.

Merely 7,000-8,000 tickets are believed to have been sold to the public for the stadium having a capacity for about 28,000. The rest of the tickets and passes have been shared among the ICC, the BCCI and the PCA.

Much before the sale started on March 21, ICC pocketed 11,000 tickets in various categories, where the BCCI had procured all tickets worth Rs15,000 each. The PCA officials were unable to explain why the ICC and the BCCI tucked away chunk of tickets.

Guests from Pakistan may also face accommodation problem as over 2,000 rooms in hotels have been booked for two to three days.
