According to a report on Geo News, Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's convoy came under attack after a car rammed into his convoy when he was returning home. The Prime Minister was with his family, and was returning to Islamabad from Murree.

The PM's security detail sprang into action and took the driver and the car into its custody. A bomb disposal squad is also checking if the car was rigged with explosives. The PM and his family were reported to have reached their destination safely. According to a report on the Radio Pakistan website, the number plate of the vehicle was fake.

On the other hand, a report on NDTV said that the car was attempting to overtake Mr Sharif's convoy. The car was then forced off the road and the driver was taken into custody. Interrogation revealed that the driver of the car was a retired Commodore of the Pakistan Navy, who had been travelling with his family. He has now been revealed.
