The government of Sindh had acquired the Hindu community’s land for building the Lyari Expressway in 2008 and no alternative land was yet allotted nor any compensation awarded even after nine years, said an application filed by Shri Ram Nath Maharaj.

Maharaj contended that the Hindu community was facing difficulties because of the non-availability of the cremation ground, reported The Express Tribune.

Pakistan's Supreme Court has taken cognizance and sought a reply from the Sindh government within two weeks.

The Chief Justice has directed the Chief Secretary of Sindh for submitting a detailed report.
