ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Tuesday said it may extradite British national Rashid Rauf arrested in the country over the trans-Atlantic airline terror plot to UK.

"We do not have any extradition treaty (with Britain) at the moment but yes, because he is a British national, the possibility of his extradition remains there," Pakistan Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Tasnim Aslam said.

An extradition treaty is being finalised with Britain but it is not yet ready, she added.

She said London has not made any request for the extradition of Rauf, detained last week and described as a "key person" in the plot to blow of US-bound flights from UK.
