This heartrending tale of a mother receiving texts from her son during the Orlando shootings adds to the horror of the events of June 12. In the shooting at the gay nightclub 'Pulse', 50 people were killed and 53 injured by a gunman who has since been identified as Omar Mateen.

Some of the people who were trapped in the club during the shooting managed to send messages and post on social media, with Pulse nightclub itself posting "Everyone get out of pulse and keep running." on its Facebook page. But no messages were as harrowing as the minute by minute updates sent by Eddie Justice to his mother Mina.

Eddie was trapped inside ‘Pulse’ when the gunman opened fire. Eddie, 30, sent a text at 2.06 am saying, “Mommy I love you.” And then he texted, "In club they shooting".

His next texts informed her that he was trapped in the bathroom, and told her to call the police. “He’s coming. I’m gonna die.”

"He has us. They need to come and get us", he continued texting frantically.

And then he texted, “He’s in the bathroom with us.” To which she asked, “Is the man in the bathroom with you”

But that was the last text message. Eddie's fate unclear for long time.

The Orlando police department later released the list of victims of the shooting and unfortunately, Eddie’s name was on it.
