PM finishes the speech with Bharat Mata Ki Jai. But before that he shows his wit cracking jokes about his fast, which was a hot topic for discussion in the past few days. He says that he needs help of all to truly empower India to get into a path of progress. Finally PM finishes his speech to standing ovation and applause. Narendra Modi speaks proudly about Mangalyaan mission and how it is cheaper than an auto ride in Ahmedabad. PM says that the poor people of the society needs to empowered. In that context he says about department of skill development started in the country. PM is now speaking about some flagship programmes started by his government. He says about Jan Dhan Yojana and Make In India campaign, PM also asks Indian Americans to contribute to India's success story. He gives an address where suggestions can be sent. PM says that last government was too much into forming legislations. He says that government is looking to abolish all the outdated laws.
PM says that he is looking to get the fundamentals right and alludes to his Swach Bharat Mission in the process. He says that many ask him to share "Big Ideas". Modi takes a swipe at all those people saying he is a person from humble roots looking to serve "small people". He speaks about rich contribution of Mahatma Gandhi to India's independence and says that it is time to give him back by trying to make a clean India. Modi aspires that by 2022, all Indians should have houses to live.
Next year, Pravasi Bharatiya Divas to be held in Ahmedabad. PM is now giving some good news for the NRI community. He says all PIO cardholders to be given permanent visas. He announces steps so that US tourists can come easily to India.
PM says India has three factors going for it, which will help it to grow rapidly. He harps on three factors, democracy, demographic dividend and demand. He tries to link US and India by drawing several parallels. He says that citizen participation is needed alongside work by government to ensure development. PM recalls that many have given their lives for the sake of their country. He reminisces about the Sikh Gurus. Modi also pays tribute to Mahatma Gandhi who channelised the fervour for Independence to a mass movement.
Similarly Narendra Modi wants the quest for growth to become a mass movement. He says that everyone needs to do his/ her bits to improve the country. Modi says that 125 crore Indians are his assets, real strength. PM again harps on youth power to become a super power.
PM pays rich tribute to all the Indian Americans who indirectly helped him in the campaign. He takes a swipe on the media saying nobody predicted such result. He says that he is working tirelessly after becoming PM and assures that he will not do anything to hurt their image. PM says that many American with Indian roots are looking to go back to India. PM says India is the most young country of the world and holds the key to future of the globe. PM says 65% of the population is below 35, and India needs to use this demographic advantage. He expresses hope that India doesn't need to look back.

After national anthem, PM has started his speech. He has greeted all the brothers and sisters of USA and also all who are following the programming closely. He greets everybody in the auspicious occasion of Navratri. PM says that Indian Americans have helped to increase the stature of Indians across the globe. He says that they have helped to break the stereotype of India being a land of snakes. He pays special ode to all those working in IT industry. He says our past generations dabbled with snakes, but now we use mouse. The crowd breaks into spontaneous laughter and applause.

After much wait, Narendra Modi has finally arrived in the stage. PM looking dapper with a saffron jacket.
Narendra Modi arrives in the Madison Square Garden. A short film is being played in the programme currently which outlines Narendra Modi's ideals and idea for India. All the major achievements of 100 days of Modi government is being highlighted currently. The journey from a tea vendor to the PM of the largest democracy of the world is showcased in front of 20,000 assembled audience. Now, all the legislators from US who have graced the occasion are being welcomed to the stage. Governor Nikki Haley is among the host of dignitaries present in the high profile programme. Currently US National Anthem is being played.
Narendra Modi will address a crowd of nearly 20,000 Indian Americans in Madison Square very shortly. The mood is of festivity, with thousands thronging outside the main auditorium from the morning. All are eager to know what Indian Prime Minister has to say to the huge diaspora who have given a warm welcome to Narendre Modi. Some organisations however have decided to show protest against Narendra Modi outside Madison Square.
Organisers say that due to the tremendous demand for tickets they had to restrict almost 450 associations that became 'welcoming partners'.
"We had tremendous demands for the tickets, we knew this will be overwhelming and it is still continuing. We have to restrict almost 450 associations from the country that became welcoming partners. Almost 15,000 free tickets have been distributed through the associations as well as individuals by lottery," said Bharat Barai, president of the Indian-American Community Foundation and chief organizer of the Madison Square Garden event
Barai also described the Madison Square Garden as a very technologically advanced venue. "The seats are beautiful, the arena arrangement inside is very beautiful and it accommodates almost 20,000 people," he added.
