In January, the woman from Krasnoyarsk contacted a local private detective agency and offered them 100,000 rubles (around $3,000) to kill the man who allegedly promised to marry her 35-year-old daughter, but ran out on her instead.

The woman had spent several years saving up to pay for the contract killing.

The daughter was found to be mentally unstable and was sent to a psychiatric clinic, the regional investigative committee said.
