TEHRAN: Iran will review proposals handed over by European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana that aim to persuade Tehran to stop its sensitive nuclear work, a senior Iranian official said on Tuesday.

"We spoke for two hours and they gave their proposals. After reviewing it, Iran will give its answer," Iran's chief nuclear negotiator, Ali Larijani, told Iranian reporters after his meeting with Solana.

Iran's top national security official said the international proposal aimed at resolving the crisis over Iran's disputed nuclear drive contains "positive steps" and 'ambiguities'.
