LONDON: Hindi films are the most popular among the foreign movies shown in Britain with three largest multiplexes here routinely screening Bollywood blockbusters that appear in the UK's top 15 film list.

The three multiplexes which routinely screen the popular Bollywood films are: Odeon, Vue Cinemas and Cineworld, official sources said on Wednesday.

Shah Rukh Khan starrer Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna (KANK) was the third highest grossing foreign language film at the UK box office in 2006, they said.

Around 2.6 million people watched Hindi films in the UK last year making it the most popular foreign language film, with Indian films accounting for 16 per cent of all UK releases in total, taking 12.4 million pounds at the box office.
