No, before you form ideas in your head if they were freed, nothing of that sorts happened. But, it was a lucky day for the women prisoners at Talavera Bruce detention facility as the jail authorities had something interesting planned for them. The jail authorities decided to organise a beauty pageant for the prisoners in an effort to improve their self-esteem and gain positivity and confidence.

A good day in hell

Yes, you heard it right! A beauty pageant inside a jail! The prisoners were all smiles and walked confidently for the catwalk as they took part in the extravagant affair.

Around 10 inmates walked down and were judged on their appeal, beauty and attitude, while, other 440 inmates cheered for them. Family and relatives were also allowed to be present at the event.

Mayana Alves, who is serving time on robbery charges, was the winner of the event.

This is not the first time the maximum security women jail have organised the beauty pageant.
