Consul General of Belgium in Mumbai Peter Huyghebaert on Tuesday said here that countries across the world should unite to defeat terrorism."Terrorism is a global threat and globally we all need to be united. All the intelligence agencies from Europe, America, India, France need to work together to eradicate the root of terrorism from the world map," Huyghebaert said.

As many as 35 people died at blasts at the airport and a metro station in Brussels, capital of Belgium, last week. The Consul General was in Goa to meet state's Chief Secretary R K Srivastava and Panaji Mayor Surendra Furtado.Huyghebaert said that after the Paris terror attacks, intelligence agencies in Europe had warned Belgium of possible terror threat. "We are already working closely with France on terrorism. But it is high time we worked globally," he said."It is a global threat and will continue until we join hands," he said. The Counsel General, who also visited the ongoing DefExpo in South Goa, expressed hope of further strengthening of bilateral trade with India.
