'I led Pakistan towards prosperity and stabilised the economy during my regime. I also improved the image of the country worldwide. I will soon be among my countrymen,' he said.
Former Pakistan president Pervez Musharraf has said he will return to the country next month.
“I led Pakistan towards prosperity and stabilised the economy during my regime. I also improved the image of the country worldwide. I will soon be among my countrymen. Those making all kinds of allegations against me will be unable to prove a single allegation of corruption against me,” Musharraf said.
The Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) and the Army have protected Pakistan’s sovereignty, and some people were conspiring to use the ‘Memo Matter’ to defame the country’s institutions, The Express Tribune quoted Musharraf, as saying.
He said citizens should elect competent leaders, irrespective of caste and creed, as this is the need of the hour in the wake of the current crisis.
He said all politicians should disclose their assets.
