Emma Watson garners support for UN's #HeForShe campaign in wake of nude photo threats

United Nations launched its #HeForShe campaign as Emma Watson took to stage and made a passionate speech about the issue. Emma explained the need for feminism and why men need to come out and support the cause.

#HeForShe is a solidarity movement for gender equality and Watson addressed boys/men to align with the cause. "This is the first campaign of its kind at the UN: we want to try and galvanize as many men and boys as possible to be advocates for gender equality. And we don’t just want to talk about it, but make sure it is tangible," she said in her speech.

As the online world including celebrities signed petitions and rallied around Emma for #HeForShe campaign, a hoax news regarding Emma Watson's leaked nude photos made rounds. But this was just a marketing strategy by an agency which brings to the forth the issue of a woman's rights to her own body. While Emma was working relentlessly to address the misogynist attitudes prevalent across the globe, this rumour just explained the need for the #HeForShe campaign when crimes against women are on the rise globally. 

Meanwhile, many international celebrities rallied around Emma and posted pictures with #HeForShe hashtag. They tweeted their own pictures holding the placard and Watson retweeted some of them from her handle.
