DUBAI:  The Gulf Emirate of Dubai unveiled a plan on Monday for a 100 billion dirham ($27.23 billion) hotel and resort development which it said would host the largest hotel in world.   

The Bawadi development outside Dubai city will have more than 29,000 hotel rooms and is expected to host more than 3 million tourists by 2016.   

It will include several luxury hotels including a 6,500 room hotel, which the government said would be the largest in the world.
