Two police officers were also victims of the attack at Charlie Hebdo office. Franck Brinsolaro was one of the officers to have lost his life, who was the guard at the office building. He is survived by his wife and children.

Ahmed Merabet, the second police officer, a Muslim, was shot at point blank range by the terrorists while he begged for his life. Tributes were being paid to the heroic Muslim police officer who fought valiantly against fundamentalists of his religion.

A footage from the camera placed in the office building shows the terrorist pointing at officer Merabet and asking "Did you want to kill me?" He was killed by a gunshot to his head. 

Reports say that Merabet was a cycle cop who was married and assigned to the 11th Arrondissement- the area where Charlie Hebdo's office is located. Merabet is survived by his wife.
