Beijing takes note of two serious incidents of Pakistani workers facing the brunt at Chinese projects, including at a nuclear power plant and takes action on the matter.
On May 27, a serious altercation happened between Chinese staff and Pakistani workers at the K2 unit of Karachi Nuclear project.
Another incident was reported on April 10 at China Nuclear Industry Huaxing Construction Co Ltd labour camp in Pakistani company “Malik & Co” where one person died and three were hospitalised after drinking cold drink laced with poison.
National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC). CZEC expelled the two Chinese staff for disrespecting Islamic culture.
The company has set up Pakistani labour complaint station boxes where Pakistani workers can report any abuse and will be working with Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission to overcome language barriers and cultural differences.
