Chinese foreign minister Yang Jiechi said on Sunday that pressure and sanctions were not the "fundamental" solution to the stand-off over Iran''s nuclear programme. Yang, speaking at a news conference held as part of China's annual parliamentary session, said that Beijing advocated talks to peacefully resolve the issue, and urged intensified diplomatic efforts.                                            Beijing has long said sanctions are not an effective tool for resolving international disputes, including over Iran, which is also a major source of crude oil for China.
