KABUL: Afghan police on Wednesday recovered the bullet-riddled body of a South Korean hostage killed by Taliban militants, a provincial police chief said.

"Yes, we've recovered the body. It had 10 bullet holes. It was found some 15 kilometres (9 miles) from a paved road between Qara Bagh and Giru districts," Alishah Ahmadzai, the head of police in southern Ghazni province, told.

The Taliban said earlier they had killed one of 23 Korean captives and a government official confirmed the death.
