According to Politico, Obama said that he thinks boycotting Winter Olympics will be inappropriate as several Americans have been training to achieve success in the Games.

He further said that he is looking forward to the moment when some gay and lesbian athletes will bring home a medal from Olympics at Sochi in Russia, the report added.

He also criticised Russia for showing reluctance towards gay and lesbian athletes and said this attitude will probably make their team weaker.
